Calstrip Industries Inc. announced plans today to build a new processing facility on the campus of Nucor Steel Arkansas, near Blytheville in Mississippi County. Construction will begin during the second quarter of 2018.
Braner/Loopco has received an order from Southwest Steel Coil, a subsidiary of Calstrip Industries, for a Compact Precision Multi-Blanker to be installed in Southwest Steel Coil’s new coil processing and distribution center in Mission (McAllen), TX. The new Multi-Blanker will occupy half the floor space consumed by conventional Multi-Blankers and will have the ability to produce dimensionally precise surface-critical coated carbon steel, stainless, and aluminum sheets and precision blanks in gauges from .020” through .135”. PVC laminating and paper interleaving apparatus are part of the system. The line will employ state-of-the-art controls and automation to address order changeover down-time related to producing a variety of products, materials, and gauges. The new Compact Multi-Blanker will join four (4) hi-performance Braner/Loopco Turret Head™ Slitters and a Braner/Loopco Precision CTL Line in the Calstrip Industries organization.
